The coast offers a wide variety of fish and shellfish while inner parts of Helgeland have a rich agriculture and long traditions involving baking and dairy produce. Take your pick from our selection of restaurants serving locally sourced food from the Helgeland region.

Combine walking and hiking in inner parts of Helgeland with a visit to Sæterstad Gård in the village of Varntresk near Hattfjelldal. The majority of the food is cooked in the farms homemade stone bake oven, including meat and bread. There is also a farm shop selling arctic char, homemade cheeses and other local produce.

In Mosjøen we recommend a visit to Ellenstuen Restaurant in the historic part of town, Sjøgata. The restaurant is a member of Arctic Meny and is renowned for its good cuisine offering traditional Norwegian fare with some continental elements.

Situated in the old vicarage from the 18th century, Stenneset restaurant just outside of Mo i Rana, prides itself in first class food combined with an authentic atmosphere. Enjoy a glass of wine in historical surroundings or make an evening of it and enjoy a four course meal prepared with only the finest ingredients for a culinary experience to be remembered.

Near Brønnøysund you can experience Hildurs Urterarium, the only wine and herb garden in Northern Norway. Here you can enjoy local cuisinemade using ingredients such as herbs from the garden, lamb meat from the farm and fish from the fjord.

On the World Heritage Island of Vega we recommend a visit to Vega Havhotell where Anna and Jon Aga will serve you home-made food of the finest and freshest ingredients that the sea, land and Vega itself can offer. 

Restaurant Maaken is situated on the island of Lovund with magnificent views of the sea and the island of Træna. Spiseriet Fabelaktig is situated on the neighboring island of Sleneset and both restaurants serve local dishes with a focus on seasonal ingredients.
